Candidiasis / Candida
(aka "yeast overgrowth")

Candida Albicans is a naturally occurring fungus in the human body.  It lives harmoniously with other microorganisms in the body (about 1 for every 10 “good” bacteria), unless the body is out of balance.  Its job is to identify and destroy pathogenic bacteria that may enter the body.  Additionally, when the body dies, Candida Albicans work to decompose the body. Therefore, when there is an “overgrowth” of this yeast in the body, it will try to take over (like in the case of the decomposing body).

Candidiasis (yeast overgrowth) contributes to a myriad ofsymptoms and can be caused by many factors.  Antibiotics, contraceptives, chemotherapy, steroids, toxic chemicals (like what is in cleaning and personal care products), heavy metals (like mercury), and even chlorinated drinking water kill off the “good” bacteria (flora) in the digestive tract, allowing the yeast to grow.  These good flora (called “probiotics”) are needed to ward off disease and infection, aid in digestion, and assist the body in assimilating nutrients.  Additionally, excess sugar or carbohydrate (which is also sugar) consumption, malnutrition, and heavy consumption of processed foods can cause the yeast to multiply and overtake the good flora.

How do I know if I have Candidiasis?

There is a simple test you can do for FREE that can determine whether or not you have yeast overgrowth.  It's called the "spit test".  Note that the greater the result, the more yeast you have.

Candida generally lives in the mouth, throat, genitals, and intestinal tract.  When in overgrowth, it can burrow holes in the intestinal tract and enter the blood stream, joints, muscles, sinuses, and the organs.   Once the intestinal walls are permeated, the holes left can lead to leaky gut syndrome, food allergies, and a build up of undigested food particles. Additionally, the yeast itself emits over 70 toxins into the body, causing a myriad of symptoms.
