There are around 84,000 chemicals on the market, with only about 1 percent of them having been studied for safety.
Women are at greater risk because they use more personal care products than men. Just using 15 personal care products (including cosmetics) would expose you to an average about 168 different chemicals. Unborn babies are at even greater risk because mother can pass along toxins to her unborn child. Recent studies indicate the detection of 300 different chemicals in a newborn baby’s umbilical cord.
