Nourishing Mineral Broth

Also called a “bone broth,” this nutrient-dense blend is very nourishing for the body and easily digestible. The use of bones provides collagen and amino acids, all of which are needed for healthy joints, muscles, and skin. Overall, this amazing blend provides nourishment to support all your organs and tissues.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds (or more) of bones from a healthy source

  • 2 chicken feet for extra gelatin (optional)

  • 2 onions

  • 4 carrots

  • 4 stalks of celery

  • 2 large potatoes (optional)

  • 4-6 cloves of fresh garlic

  • 4 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 2 TBSP seas salt

  • 2 tsp peppercorns

  • Optional herbs and spices: fresh basil, oregano, marjoram, parsley, and/or thyme; cumin (I use about 2 TBSP); cayenne; turmeric; or any other herb or spice that you like.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place bones in a large crock pot.

  2. Coarsely chop all vegetables and place in crock pot.

  3. Add all herbs, spices, salt, pepper, and vinegar to 6 cups water, stir, and pour into crock pot.

  4. Add additional water to fill crock pot at least three-quarters full.

  5. Cover and cook on high for a least 5 hours. May cook overnight, as well.

  6. Strain broth into glass mason jars, leaving at least 2 inches of space in each.

  7. Put one in refrigerator for immediate use and freeze the others.

  8. Warm one cup broth for daily consumption.

  9. Utilize vegetables as a stew for other meals.

  10. ENJOY!!!
