6 Tips to Make Your July 4th a Real Bang!

As with any holiday, July 4th can elicit a lot of unhealthy behaviors. But, you can still have a super, fun-filled 4th AND feel great in the process. Whether you will be hosting the party at your home or you will attend as a guest at another party, I’ve got some quick go to tips to help you make the most of your Independence Day.

  1. Stay hydrated – Dehydration can cause a myriad of negative side effects, including headaches, nausea, and irritability. By drinking 60-80 ounces of quality, pH balanced water throughout the day, you can avoid dehydration and enjoy the holiday to the fullest.

  2. Drink between drinks – What does that mean? Well, every time you have an alcoholic or caffeinated beverage, drink a full glass of water just prior. Alcohol and sugar are very dehydrating. Drinking water will help you stay hydrated, as well as slow the amount of alcohol consumption, both of which can save you from a nasty hangover.

  3. Substitute – It’s okay to snack. Just be sure you choose a quality brand. If you look at the ingredients and see a bunch of chemicals, you’re creating a problem for yourself and your guests. Simply substitute unhealthy brands with healthy ones, so that you can fully enjoy the food, as well as the party.

  4. Eat quality meat – Processed meats are loaded with chemicals that have conclusively been linked with cancer. Instead of processed meat, provide homemade meatballs or wings. The REAL thing is always better!!! J

  5. Fill up on the veggies – Vegetables help your body to digest any unhealthy foods you may consume and provide your body with vital nutrients. Provide a relish tray of sliced veggies and some guacamole for a healthy treat.

  6. BYOS – That stands for “bring your own snacks.” While it may be okay to eat what’s provided at the party, it’s a good idea to bring your own goods just in case.

By applying these simple, easy tips, you can enjoy your 4th the fullest and still feel great the next day!
