Why Is Your Supplement Not Working?

Supplements have been around for decades to help fill the gaps in the modern diet and provide therapeutic herbs and/or nutrients to help balance the body. While I do encourage people to take supplements, there are many things to consider when choosing supplements so that you get the full benefit of the supplement. For example, it is important to ensure nutrients are in the proper form and without binders that may go undigested.

Also, some supplements should only be taken for a specific period of time, otherwise they won’t work. For example, I’ve had people tell me they tried a supplement that didn’t work, when it really should have. When troubleshooting why it didn’t work, I find it is often because they do not take it for long enough. This is common with glucosamine supplements. Many supplements need to be taken for a least a few months before you will notice an effect. Some supplements, however, like B-vitamins can often be felt almost immediately; but this is the exception, rather than the rule.
